Music has always felt to me like a way of creating an atmosphere, one that brings together devotion, positivity and a sense of purpose. I experienced this beautifully when I had the opportunity to present a Ganesh Stuti at a special gathering organised by the Brahma Kumaris, Malad West, to felicitate Justice Sunil B. Shukre on his appointment as the Lokayukta of Maharashtra.
Beginning the programme with Ganesh Stuti was a deeply meaningful experience for me. In our tradition, invoking Lord Ganesha at the beginning of an important occasion carries a beautiful significance, it is a prayer for auspiciousness, clarity and the removal of obstacles.
The gathering also marked an important moment as Justice Shukre stepped into this new responsibility. The felicitation included the presentation of a memento, bouquet, safa, shawl and tilak, along with heartfelt wishes for his new role.

What stayed with me was the spirit of the occasion, coming together of music, spirituality and a meaningful public responsibility under one roof.
For me, performing at such gatherings is a reminder that music is not limited to the stage. It can become a prayer, an offering and a way of adding a little more grace to an important occasion.
