A Life Devoted To Sur Sadhana
Music has never been something I simply learned. It is something I continue to discover.
My journey with music began in childhood, listening to classical bhajans and the music of great artists like Pandit Jasraj Ji, Begum Parveen Sultana Ji, and Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Ji with my father. Those early moments created a deep curiosity and love for Indian classical music within me. My parents were the first to recognize this love and gave me the opportunity to learn and grow in music. Over the years, I was fortunate to learn from several respected gurus, each of whom added something precious to my journey. They gave me not only knowledge of music, but also discipline, confidence, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of the art.
After marriage, I moved to Mumbai. Rather than allowing life’s responsibilities to take me away from music, I found a new way to remain connected with it and founded Shivranjini Music Classes. Teaching became another beautiful dimension of my musical journey. I believe that every teacher is also a lifelong learner, and my students have taught me as much as I have taught them. Each student brings a unique voice, a different perspective, and their own story, and watching them grow has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. For me, teaching is not only about learning the technical aspects of music, but also about developing patience, discipline, confidence, and a genuine connection with the art.
My musical journey has never been mine alone. My brother, sister, husband, and son have continued to encourage and support me, while my friends have always stood by me. I remain deeply grateful to every guru, family member, friend, and student who has been a part of this journey. Music continues to be a source of strength, joy, and learning in my life, and I believe there is always something new to discover. Through Shivranjini, my wish is to continue learning, teaching, and sharing the beauty of Indian classical music with sincerity and devotion, while creating a space where every student can discover their own voice and develop a lasting love for music.

The Guru Who
Shaped The Journey
I was blessed to learn from my first proper Guru, Dr. Abha and Dr. Vibha Chaurasia Ji. They gave me a strong foundation and opened new doors into the world of Indian classical music. Under their guidance, I completed my Visharad and received my Visharad degree.
Later, I continued my learning under Smt. Shobha Choudhary Ji and completed my M.A. in Indian Classical Vocal. She gave me clarity on how to carry music forward in life, especially after marriage.
Presently, I am blessed to continue learning under Smt. Aditi Ji.
For me, the journey of a student never truly ends, no matter how many milestones one achieves. There is always something new to learn, discover, and deepen in music.
